About us
Hi, I am Angela, and I am so happy you're here.
I created this page in October of 2023. I’ve spent some time on here going back and forth trying to pinpoint exactly what I was looking for. Like all good things, 1- you have to just begin where you are and 2- it can take time.
Since I was 32 years old, around 2014/2015, I've been on quite the journey, to say the least, which I shared on The Thirty-Something Blog, before deciding to pause my sharing since it didn't feel like who I was any longer.
My journey has been filled with transitions, growth, highs, lows, despair, discovery, and joy. It's very normal for our identities and interests to shift over time, especially during major life transitions, like divorce, searching for meaning and purpose, choosing love again, starting a family and advancing in our education and careers. Yes, I hit all of these in just a few short years, which also seemed line an eternity.
Simply stated: I changed and remained open to exploring new avenues to harness my creativity and self-expression. With wisdom and a whole lot of courage, I pivoted, pivoted some more, and then pivoted again. And acknowledging that while certain chapters may close, they still shape who I am today. Maybe the Coffee is honoring my past, my thirties, while bridging it to my present, my forties, and future.
I hope this for you, too.
Choosing to find moments of joy in each day, no matter how challenging they can be, is a powerful reminder of the importance of gratitude and being here now. Sharing these "micro doses" of joy with others is uplifting and create a sense of connection for all of us.
Our journeys are unique to each of us and full of rich experiences that have shaped you into who we are today. To be happy, we must embrace this. I invite you to grab a coffee (or beverage of choice!) to join in on the path of growth and self-discovery.
For the "about" section that most people expect: I am a 40-something-year-old resident of Northern Bergen County, NJ, where I live with my husband and our toddler son. Although I hold my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, I chose to not practice within the therapeutic setting. Instead, for many reasons, I have decided to utilize it in corporate where I work as a Project Manager for a global organization and have left myself open for coaching (relationship/personal development) vs. traditional therapy. As you'll come to know, I maintain my passion for physical fitness by coaching kickboxing at two locations in Bergen County on a very-part-time basis. Additionally, I'll never let go of my love for long distance running.
Cheers,
Angela
